The State Museum of Russian Political History was founded in 1919 and today houses in the former mansion of Matilda Kshesinskaya, prime-ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater. The Museum stocks are accounted about 500.000 units. For a long time it was a museum of the Great October Socialist Revolution; today this is the only museum in St. Petersburg, reflecting the state political history at the turning-points of the 19-20th centuries social development. You will be able to spend time with interest and get some new facts about Russian history. The exhibition has documents, photos, letters, old newspapers, death sentences, banners, posters and other memorial from the most politically turbulent times in Russia.
