The Peterhof ensemble is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the tour you'll visit famous Grand Palace,the former summer residence of Russian monarchs, Grottoes and the Fountain Park of Peterhof. Originally, the Grand palace was laid by the order of Peter the Great. But later, during the reign of his daughter Elizabeth, the prominent architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli transformed the Grand Palace into a masterpiece of Baroque style. You will see the Oak cabinet of Peter the Great, the Cesme Room created for Catherine the Great, the Chinese Room, the Throne Room with Romanov portrait gallery, the Ball Room and many others. Facing the Gulf of Finland, the palace rises above the Grand Cascade and the Lower Park. The Grottoes are the architectural centre of the Grand Cascade. They were built between 1715 and 1723. After visiting the grand Palace and Grottoes, you'll have a guided tour around the Fountain park, which was created in the image of Versailles, enjoy the alleys, the sparkling fountains, the exteriors of the small palaces of Peterhof and take a lot of pictures.
