Overview

The Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center was opened in Moscow in 2012 and is known as the largest Jewish museum in the world. Estimated expenses of the museum construction are 50 million dollars. It is said that Vladimir Putin personally donated his one-month salary towards its construction.

This large and attractive museum is interactive. It involves us in the history of Russian Jewry, their role in public life in the late XIX and early XX, their life in time of the Soviet regime when many of them left the USSR, the heroism and tragedy of Russian Jewry during the World War II.

The exhibitions are divided chronologically, helping visitors to understand the life and role of Jewish communities.
